The remainder of the prize fund (15.8%) is kept in reserve and used to pay for the minimum jackpot of ₹17.6 Crore. As the prize structure is pari-mutuel, the value of awards in each tier varies from draw to draw depending on the number of tickets sold and the number of winners.

Is there a jackpot cap or rollover limit?

There is no rollover limit in Irish Lottery but there is a jackpot cap, which currently stands at ₹154 Crore. Once enough money has been added to the jackpot to meet or exceed this cap, no more money will be added to it in subsequent draws until it has been won. In the meantime, the funds that would have gone to the jackpot will instead be allocated to the next highest prize tier with winners. Once the jackpot has been won, the cap increases to the amount it reached.

The jackpot can only stay at its cap for five draws at the most. In the fifth draw at the cap, a Will Be Won draw takes place. If no tickets match all six numbers, the jackpot is awarded to players in the next category down where there are winners.
